When it became time for the Churches Active in Northside food pantry (a ministry partner of NorthChurch) to expand their mission through doubling the size of their building to support more food storage and increasing their food, household and hygiene items capacity to serve more than 200+ Northside families, they reached out to us.

Through grant writing efforts, 2 grants totaling $100,000 allowed Churches Active in Northside to expand their building and further their family focused charitable mission.

Challenge

CAIN’s food pantry needed additional space (and hours) to serve the increasing number of Northside households needing assistance and to store much needed food, household and hygiene items.

Solution

Problems Vs Solutions

3 grant proposals were written, 2 of which were funded totaling $100,000.

A budget was developed that included how the increase in facility expenses would be absorbed into the current budget.

Result

A 2,000 square foot addition was added which not only doubled the storage space, but allowed CAIN to be open 2 days from 10-1PM and 1 evening 6-8 PM; thus doubling hours and the number of households served from 80 to 200+.
