Cincinnati Zoo

Volunteers are often the first impression a nonprofit makes to clients, (potential) donors and the public-at-large. We create positive and memorable interactive programs that will support your mission for years to come.

For the Cincinnati Zoo we trained 75 volunteers for the Zoo Ambassador Program which allowed them to more accurately share information about zoo exhibits, conservation efforts and exceed customer service expectations to more than 1.5 million people per year.

The Cincinnati Zoo wanted to develop a customer service based program where volunteers assist visitors with questions about:

  • Location oF exhibits and needed services
  • Restaurant locations and offerings
  • Show times
  • Helping lost children
  • Basic knowledge of zoo history and exhibits/animals

During their busy spring/summer season.

  • Problems Vs Solutions

Working in conjunction with the zoo’s education department, the Zoo Ambassador Program was created.

The zoo educators wanted a formal training class, manual, and on-site training. The zoo educators created the formal 12 week training class on zoo history, animal and exhibit information and the section of the manual covering this information. We created the customer service section of the manual and provided group and one-on-one training of the ambassadors.

Cincinnati Zoo visitors received excellent customer service from 75 trained Zoo Ambassador volunteer which enhanced their experience. Priceless!
